2 held for making fake credit cards

The Dahisar police has arrested two persons involved in making fake credit cards. The police has also seized 276 fake credit and debit cards along with 26 fake driving licenses.

The Dahisar police has arrested two persons involved in making fake credit cards. The police has also seized 276 fake credit and debit cards along with 26 fake driving licenses.

The accused used to purchase electronic instruments, jewellery and watches through online shopping websites using these clone credit cards. They would then sell these products on websites like Olx. The alleged mastermind of the case is still on the run.

The accused have been identified as Vishjeet dambar Chhatri (26) who is a resident of Kurar village, Malad (east) and Nitin Tukaram Ingle who is a resident of Kherwadi, Bandra (east). Police arrested these accused from Mumbai Pune expressway on Friday when they were on the run. Police has booked them under sections 420 (cheating), 464 (making a false document), 465 (forgery), 466 (forgery of record of Court or of public register), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 471 (using as genuine a forged) of IPC and under section 66 of IT Act.

A police official from Dahisar police station confirming the arrest said, “On October 29 one of our officers was tipped off about a gang active in making fake credit cards and we laid a trap accordingly in the Ghodabandar area.” He further added, “We noticed a Skoda Activa car and started following it, near Kalapur toll post of Raigad. We overtook it and arrested both the accused.”
