The police has arrested two employees of a pest control company after 18 workers at a pharmaceutical firm had to he hospitalised.

According to sources from the Charkop police station, officials are planning to book another person, from the maintenance department of the pest control company, for negligence.
On Wednesday employees of Ajanta Pharma Ltd, situated at the Government industrial Estate, Charkop, were rushed to Oscar Hospital after complaining of burning and itching sensation in their eyes and unclear vision. The pest control company had, on the previous evening, carried out operations without informing the Ajanta Pharma employees — who after an hour from reporting to work fell sick.
Four of the patients were discharged on Thursday, according to Dr Rajesh Kakde of Oscar Hospital. Others are expected to be discharged within a day or two.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rajesh Sakharam Sigwan (42) and Baburam Lakshman Sarje (42). They have been granted bail.
