NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said that there have been 62 meetings of Devendra Fadnavis cabinets so far and the data collated from the state government shows that nearly one third of the departments have not done any significant work in terms of taking policy decisions.
The NCP has prepared an analysis of all the Cabinet meetings held after the BJP came to power in the state. According to the NCP analysis, there were 63 Cabinet meetings held since November 1 2014. However, in those meeting no decision was taken on the subjects related to 17 of the 52 departments.
“The primary responsibility of ministers is to take policy decisions. It seems that the ministers are working to make policies, but only doing the work in which have personal interests,” Mr Malik said.
The NCP spokesperson pointed out that chief minister himself holds 10 departments and there was not a single Cabinet decision taken in the past 14 months related to five of CM’s departments including ports, tourism, information public relation, skill development, protocol and department of sainik welfare.
There are 12 departments that have taken only a single decision, Mr Malik said.
