Mumbai: Yesteryear superstar and former Miss India Zeenat Aman has lodged a complaint against her businessman friend Aman Khanna alias Sarfaraz for allegedly stalking and harassing her. The Juhu police registered a case against Khanna and have served him a legal notice as per Supreme Court guidelines. Sources claimed he is not traceable.

Khanna allegedly sent several derogatory and threatening text messages to the actor and created ruckus outside her residence in Juhu recently after a squabble between them. Khanna was allegedly helping her convert a land parcel into a non-agriculture plot in the outskirts, a preliminary probe has revealed.

The accused and Ms Aman have known each other for some time, officials said. The actor was to pay Khanna for his services. However, she suspected that Khanna was cheating her and, hence, stopped the process and severed all ties with him.

This angered Khanna and he allegedly started sending her derogatory text messages and also threatened to harm her and her family. The texts were sent via an online messenger to the actor and they have been shared with the police. “A few days ago, Khanna went to the actor’s Juhu residence and created ruckus and hurled abuses. His statement is yet to be recorded,” said Paramjit Dahiya, deputy commissioner of police, Zone 9.

The police has summoned Khanna to record his statement by serving a legal notice to him. Any further action will be taken against him after ascertaining the facts. “The notice states that he should make himself available before the police, and time has been given to him as per the apex court guidelines,” said Sunil Ghosalkar, senior inspector of Juhu police station.

The police will send Khanna’s phone for forensic analysis once he presents himself for questioning.

A case has been registered against Khanna under section 354 (D) (stalking) and 509 (outraging modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and under section of the Information Technology Act.
