Butcher sodomises 4-year-old in his shop

Mumbai: The Byculla police has arrested a 19-year-old butcher, Anil Saroj, for allegedly sodomising a four-year-old boy, who is his neighbour, on Wednesday. Saroj allegedly lured the victim, who was playing outside his house, promising to give him a chocolate. He then showed the child a cartoon clip on his mobile phone and took him to his workplace to commit the crime, before dropping the victim home.  

The minor came home in a ‘traumatised’ state and informed his mother about the incident, according to the police. The mother then lodged a complaint with the Byculla police station and the accused was arrested on Wednesday night. The boy has been admitted to the state-run JJ Hospital with ‘deep injuries’ and is being counselled by psychologists to make him get over his trauma, according to doctors attending on him.

When The Asian Age spoke to JJ Hospital’s dean, Dr T.P. Lahane, he said, “The four-year-old kid sustained deep injuries. While we have already done the necessary treatment, it’s a delicate process, which is why we are being cautious.” He added, “Our medical tests and observations have ruled out surgery, but the kid is still under mental trauma. We have roped in psychologists from our hospital to counsel him.”

When The Asian Age spoke to DCP (zone 3) Pravinkumar Padwal, he said, “The accused used to live three houses away from the minor. He sodomised the minor in his shop, and let him go later. We have sent the minor for medical tests and the accused would be sent for the same on Friday”.
