Three Maharashtra WC cricketers to get Rs 50 lakh each

Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday felicitated three Maharashtra cricketers, who were part of the Indian women’s cricket team, that reached the World Cup final held in London on Monday. The chief minister announced that the government would reward them with Rs 50 lakh each for their “sterling performance”.

The CM felicitated Smriti Mandhana, Mona Meshram and Poonam Raut at Vidhan Bhavan. Apart from these three, other members of the support team will also be rewarded.

So far, the Indian cricket board BCCI and Madhya Pradesh government had also announced a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh for each member of the Indian team for their performance in the ICC World Cup in England.  The support staff of the team will receive Rs 25 lakh each. India stunned six-time champions Australia to reach their second-ever final in the World Cup and will play England in the final at Lord’s.
