Mumbai: The special CBI court on Wednesday directed former media baron Indrani Mukerjea to register a police complaint against the Byculla women prison officers who allegedly assaulted her and threatened her with dire consequences.

Mukerjea, an accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, said she and other inmates had been hit “very inhumanly” by some officers.

Special CBI judge J.C. Jagdale has directed jail authorities and escorting authorities to take her to JJ Hospital for treatment and then escort her to the Nagpada police station to register a complaint.

Mukerjea is currently lodged at the Byculla women’s prison and witnessed the brutal assault on inmate Manjula Sheteye.
