Mumbai: In a bid to reach out to the youth of the state, Maharashtra unit of the Youth Congress has organised a ‘Mein bhi Nayak’ competition as part of its ‘Wake up Maharashtra’ initiative. The competition is apparently inspired by Bollywood star Anil Kapoor’s blockbuster film Nayak. Participants will be able to present their ideas and thoughts on development issues, while the winners will get an opportunity to meet and spend a day with the chief ministers of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Incidentally, the Congress party rules all three states. The initiative is targeted at youngsters who are keen on creating impact on the ground and possess unique policy ideas for the development of the state. The ‘Wake up Maharashtra’, began in July this year. “We are very clear that people from any organisation can participate in this competition. In fact, we are receiving call from various youth organizations across the state,” said Satyajeet Tambe. He also added that participants can join the Congress party or its youth wing if they wish to. Anyone can register until September 6. The competition will be held on September 8. Two winners from each district will get an opportunity to participate in the final round, which will be held in Mumbai. The final winners will get the opportunity to meet the CMs.
