Mumbai: The Bhandup police found the dead body of a 32-year-old man, Naresh Shetty, in an auto-rickshaw with his intestines scooped out late Saturday night.

Shetty was recently released from jail and was allegedly murdered by his lover’s brother, with whom he had reconciled earlier this week, the police said.

According to the police sources, the incident took place late on Saturday night and the body of the victim- Naresh Shetty, was found in an auto rickshaw.

After his release from jail, he met up with his girlfriend, who stayed in Gaondevi area in Bhandup. When Shetty entered his girlfriend’s house, her brother became violent and kicked Shetty out.

Sources said that a few hours later he was found stabbed in an auto rickshaw. The attack was so brutal that the intestines were knifed out by the accused.

The police said that the accused is on the run. However, they have registered a case of murder against the accused under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that pertains to murder. The police sent the body for post-mortem at a civic hospital.

This is the third murder incident in Bhandup in a week’s span.

Earlier this week on Sunday, a 50-year-old man and his two sons were stabbed to death amid a festering dispute over space to park their respective vegetable handcarts.

Similarly on Friday night, the Bhandup police arrested a minor boy, who allegedly killed a 28-year-old man over a trivial issue of blowing the smoke on the victim’s face.
