C-MAT aspirants allege faulty results

Mumbai: After the results of the Common Management Admission Test (C-MAT) 2018 - a national MBA entrance exam - last week, the students appeared pointed out discrepancies in their results as majority of them have scored way lower than what they calculated on the basis of the answer key. 

In a new, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), who conducts C-MAT once a year in the 75 cities, refuted the allegation by  stating that there is no chance of any discrepancies as the entire examination is conducted online while the assessment is done through a centralised process. 

“I was expecting percentage above 90 but got only 72 out of 400 which itself picture a glitch in the assessment or the system,” said another aspirant. Mahesh Margam, another aspirant took to the social media who had mailed to AICTE but failed to get any reply. His tweet said, “I got ‘zero’ marks at CMAT-18 which is not possible as my exam was smooth and I also had verified with the answers released by AICTE.”

When asked about this matter to Prabhu Desai of technical department, AICTE Mumbai region, he said, “From conducting the exam to the assessment is done in an online system so there is no chance of any discrepancies from our end.” When asked what the students need to do now, he said, “We cannot give the students marks because they have scored less.
