Mumbai: Workers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a massive protest in Bhayander west area against journalist who in his publication published a controversial photo of CM Devendra Fadnavis. The protest, which was attended by hundreds of BJP workers, turned unruly and had to be controlled by policemen from two police stations — Bhayander and Mira road.  Soumen Mukherjee, a BJP party worker, said journalist Vasant Mane allegedly published an image of Mr Fadnavis wearing a saree. Mr Mane runs a local web daily newspaper, Sarvashreshta Rajsatta. The image was published on February 23, after results for the civic poll were declared on Thursday. The photo shows Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray donning a holi attire and playing a dhol and Mr Fadnavis dancing to the tunes, clad in a saree studded with jewellery.  Mr Mukherjee said, “This is demeaning and we cannot allow someone to show our CM in a bad light and we have approached the police to register a complaint”.
