Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis Friday reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena alliance would return to power as the people of the state were of the view that only his government would be able to fulfill their wishes.

Mr Fadnavis is currently in the second leg of his Maha Janadesh yatra, which began Thursday from Nandurbar district, going through Dhule and Jalgaon districts of northern Maharashtra Friday.

While taunting other parties for also holding yatras after seeing his yatra was garnering a good response, Mr Fadnavis also acknowledged that while some of the works had been completed, others were yet to be completed.

He said that the people knew that they would complete the pending development works.

The chief minister also expressed confidence that the BJP-Shiv Sena would come back to power with a thumping majority in the upcoming election.

The Congress launched its Pol Khol yatra from August 20 to expose the claims made by Mr Fadnavis during his Maha Janadesh yatra.

Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar and NCP MP Amol Kolhe, too, undertook the Shiv Swarajya Yatra in a bid to connect with the masses ahead of the elections.

Apart from Mr Pawar and Mr Kolhe, NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule on Friday started her Samvad yatra from Ahmednagar.
