MUMBAI: Students who still haven’t got admissions anywhere are worried about missing out on their desired colleges as not more than 40 to 50 seats are vacant in the general category of the popular colleges.

Prerna Jain, a parent of a general category student, felt that it is unfair for the open-category students. She said, “We are termed open category for the namesake as there is no good for us whatsoever. I checked the vacant seats in South Bombay colleges and every college does not have more than 10 seats in the Commerce stream in which my son is interested.

“My friends who managed to get admissions in minority colleges because several of them were Sindhi, Gujarathi and Tamil. However, me, even after scoring 81.39 per cent, I am seatless,” Prateek Chawda, a student said.
