Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that questions would be raised on the nationalism of those speaking the language of Pakistan.

Mr Fadnavis said that while the pride of the nation has awakened in the country, the Opposition raised questions on the surgical strike on terrorists’ camps in Pakistan. The question would be raised on the Opposition’s nationalism too, he said.

Without taking name of any political parties, the BJP leader alleged that the Opposition has been bringing up the issue of nationalism in the politics. “The forces have destroyed terrorist camps in Pakistan. The whole world was supporting the surgical strike. However, the Opposition raised questions over the surgical strike and spoke Pakistan’s language,” Mr Fadnavis said.

Mr Fadnavis said that the pride of the nation has been awakened under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership that isolated Pakistan in the world following the Pulwama attack in February.

“Sometimes I feel bad about the nationalism being politicised. Some people questioned the surgical strike, while some are of late speaking the language of Pakistan,” Mr Fadnavis said.
