Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah will be in Mumbai on Sunday to meet Lok Sabha Members of Parliament (MP) of Maharashtra and Goa. He will hold a meeting with state MPs on Sunday morning where he is expected to guide them on the upcoming general elections. Later, Mr Shah will be meeting the MPs from Goa. This state sends 48 MPs to Lok Sabha (LS), the second highest after Uttar Pradesh's 80.

In preparations for the 2019 general elections, Mr Shah is reaching out to every state capital and addressing a wide range of people. His meeting on Sunday will be a part of this initiative. "Our Rajya Sabha (RS) MPs have also been given the responsibility of one Lok Sabha constituency where the party lost in 2014. So, all Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will be present for the meeting," said a senior party functionary.

It is expected that Mr Shah will ask for the preparation details of various constituencies. "We have already built a 'One Booth 10 Youth' team at the ground level. The LS MPs were asked to include more team members from the women and social media wings at every booth. So, Mr Shah will take stock of this," party functionary added. Mr Shah will also meet two MPs from Goa in Mumbai itself for the same purpose.

The BJP chief will meet the party vistarak for Maharashtra on Sunday afternoon. The party has appointed a vistarak in every Assembly constituency on this basis of its position on the ground. He is taking forward his organization-building work through them and is also getting direct feedback about his party leaders through these pracharaks, said sources.
