Saamana’s twin attack on BJP, Yogi Adityanath

Mumbai: Taking a dig at the newly appointed chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, the Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana on Tuesday said his appointment comes as a boost for construction of Ram temple but he will also have to focus on delivering development and good governance in the state. The Shiv Sena also questioned the BJP, asking why it has created posts of two deputy chief ministers in Uttar Pradesh when it had refused to do so in Maharashtra.

Yogi Adityanath, who was sworn in on Sunday, has selected BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit chief Keshav Prasad Maurya and party’s national vice-president Dinesh Sharma as deputy chief ministers of the state.

“Rather than performing religious duties, Mr Adityanath should focus on delivering good governance and development. Governing a state as large as Uttar Pradesh will not be as easy as governing a mutt. Appointing Yogi Adityanath as the chief minister will hasten the construction of Ram temple, and new energy will be infused in the Hindutva forces. However, the creation of jobs is also important, and he will have to work hard for that,” Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana said.

The Shiv Sena even cautioned Mr Adityanath, saying that delivering good governance is not an easy task.

The Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece also recalled tenure of former Madhya Pradesh Chief minister Uma Bharati, saying, “Sanyasi Uma Bharati became the CM of Madhya Pradesh and spent her more worshiping. The whole governance of the state collapsed”.

Hurt by the appointments of two chief ministers in Uttar Pradesh; the Sena said, “Two Deputy Chief Ministers have been appointed in UP, while for Maharashtra, the BJP says appointing a deputy CM is against their policy. In Jammu and Kashmir, they teamed up with PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti to get the deputy CM’s post.” the Sena said.
