Mumbai: The special CBI court is expected to pronounce judgment in 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh and 2006 Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter case on Friday.

Meanwhile, in a fresh development a prosecution witness Azam Khan, whose wife has already filed a petition in the Bo-mbay high court seeking to re-examine her husband in this case, on Th-ursday moved one more application before the sp-ecial CBI court seeking that he should be re-exa-mined and his previous statement recorded under section 164 of CrPC should be exhibited.

Another prosecution witness, Mahendra Zala, a petrol pump owner, has alleged that the prosecution did not furnish to the court his statement recor-ded before a magistrate. The court will decide bo-th these pleas on Friday.

Currently 22 accused including several policemen from Rajasthan and Gujarat are facing trial in the case but the case attracted much attention because many big names were named in the case but were discharged befo-re commencement of trial. Those who have already been discharged include, BJP chief Amit Shah, who was minister of state for home in Gujarat at the time of the incidents, the then Rajasthan home minister Gulabchand Kataria and former Gujarat police chief P.C.
