15 km transport work test will begin by 2019

Mumbai: The test work of 15 km for the Hyperloop will begin by 2019, confirmed the PMRDA officials. The 15 km will be from Balewadi to Gahunje. The feasibility report with a detailed project report (DPR) will be ready by November. A pre-feasibility study was completed earlier this year that found the Mumbai-Pune route as the most feasible. Hyperloop is a high-speed, tube-based mode of transport, wherein a pod-like vehicle travels through a tube.

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis with PMRDA commissioner Kiran Gitte, recently visited Virgin Hyperloop 500 meter test track at Nevada in Los Angeles. “The construction for the test track will begin by next year after closely examining the feasibility report which is currently under preparation,” said a senior PMRDA official.
