Mumbai: There are three days left for the final results of the Lok Sabha election, but some enthusiastic Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have already started preparing for celebrations. The exit polls predicted that the BJP would win more than 34 seats in Maharashtra and sweep Mumbai’s six constituencies.

BJP corporator and former MLA Atul Shah announced the production of several kilos of laddoos in Girgaum on Tuesday in preparation for the National Democratic Alliance’s “imminent victory” on Thursday, May 23.

Speaking to The Asian Age, Mr Shah said, “We want to celebrate our massive victory on Thursday. I will prepare laddoos on Tuesday and they will be distributed on Thursday at the historical Kasturba Gandhi Chowk, CP Tank near the VP Road police station. The celebrations will start from 8 am and the laddoos will be given to every single person”.

Mr Shah also announced that a massive LED screen would set up at CP Tank on Thursday from 8 am onwards for the people to watch a live telecast of the election results. “People can enjoy the declaration of the results here and eat laddoos too. “We will also cut a big cake in the evening around 4 to 5 pm,” Mr Shah added.

This is not the first time Mr Shah has organised such an event. In 2014, he had prepared laddoos anticipating his victory in the state Assembly elections. However, he had lost then.

Asked what if the exit polls turn out badly for his party, a confident Mr Shah said, “We are very sure that BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will win 42 seats in Maharashtra and all six in Mumbai. The country wants a charismatic and progressive leader like Narendra Modi. The digital India movement has resulted in every youth with a mobile phone in hand. India wants the country to bloom and the NDA will 100 per cent come to power,” the BJP leader added.
