Two held for gangraping 17-year-old at MLA hostel

Nagpur: Two persons including a jewellery shop owner and his accomplice were arrested on Thursday for allegedly kidnapping and gangraping a minor at the local MLA’s hostel in Civil Lines area.

The police said the complainant, a 17-year old girl, worked as a sales girl in a jewellery shop at Dharampeth area. The shop is owned by accused Manoj Bhagat (44), who allegedly kidnapped her with the help of his associate Rajat Madre (19) on April 14. The duo offered to give her a lift. They took her to the MLA hostel where they raped her repeatedly. They left her bleeding on a deserted place the next day.

The girl narrated the ordeal to her parents after reaching home. She lodged a police complaint on Thursday. The police has arrested Bhagat and Madre. They have been kept in police custody till April 22.
