Mumbai: Senior Congress leader and the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra assembly, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil on Tuesday said that the state had turned into “frustrated Maharashtra” as no section of the society was happy with the performance of the Devendra Fadnavis-led government.

“The Congress will take an aggressive stand against the government for its alleged failures on all fronts,” Mr Patil told reporters after the co-ordination committee meeting of the Congress Legislature Party. On the subject of steps in this regard, he said that group leaders of all opposition parties from both houses of the state legislature would meet on February 25 to chalk out their strategy during the budget session which would begin on February 26.

“The party has decided to take up issues of loan waiver; apathy of the government regarding compensation to farmers affected by hailstorm and unseasonal rains; corruption; rising unemployment; and problems faced by people living in urban areas like Mumbai. Instead of tackling these problems facing the common man, the government is only engaged in conducting events,” Mr Patil said.

“Investments are on the downslide, unemployment is on the rise, and sloppy implementation of the farm loan waiver have all frustrated people about the present regime. The state has turned into ‘frustrated Maharashtra’ as no section of the society is happy with the performance of the Fadnavis government,” alleged Mr Patil.
