Pune builder DSK likely to go behind bars

Mumbai: Pune builder, DS Kulkarni, who allegedly duped investors to the tune of Rs 200 crore could be arrested anytime. The court had said that if the applicant failed to deposit Rs 50 crore with the court registrar by Monday (December 18), the investigating agency was free to proceed further. The builder did not deposit the sum by Monday.

Justice Sadhana Jadhav was hearing the builder’s anticipatory bail application, when additional Public Prosecutor Deepak Thackrey informed the court that despite giving a last chance to developer Kulkarni to deposit Rs 50 crore with the court registrar, he had failed to do so. He also brought to the notice of the court, the last order passed by the Justice Ajay Gadkari, who had given Kulkarni a last chance and made it clear that failing to deposit the amount would result in his anticipatory bail application getting automatically cancelled.

At the last hearing, the HC had asked Kulkarni to give an undertaking if he was in a position to pay 25 per cent of the outstanding Rs 200 crore the company owed its investors.
