Mumbai: Students of University of Mumbai (MU) are an angry lot, as revaluation of over 4,529 answer sheets is still pending. The examination was conducted in the month of April-May, 2017. This year, more than 80,000 students applied for revaluation as they were unsatisfied with their marks. “The application for revaluation did not stop for months a couple of months after the results were declared in September. The workload continued for the teachers as everyday there were new students coming for reval,” said Dr Arjun Ghatule, director and controller of board of examinations.

In order to complete the process, MU had asked all the teachers to do revaluation of papers on priority basis last month. On Friday, Dr Ghatule announced that a special drive would be conducted for the assessment of the revaluation papers. “This drive will consist of two professors and one official who understands the procedure of revaluation,” Dr Ghatule said.

This will be set up on the basis of question paper (QP) code. “By arranging them on QP code basis, we will know which professor is eligible to assess which revaluation paper. If the professor belongs to Science background, he/she will Science answer sheets to check. This will fasten the process,” he explained.

The acting vice-chancellor of MU, Dr Devanad Shinde assured that all the pending revaluation results would be declared by next weekend.
