Man held for sexually abusing 11-year-old girl

Mumbai: The Kalachowki police arrested a 45-year-old man on Friday for sexually abusing an 11-year-old minor. The accused is the minor’s relative, and he was living with her family in Jijamata Nagar, Kalachowki.

The accused works as a security guard and has a son. Allegedly, the accused had sexually molested the minor on Thursday, following which the girl confided in her uncle, who lodged a complaint against the accused in the Kalachowki police station.

According to the minor, before she informed her family members, the accused had sexually assaulted her two to three times, while she was alone at home.

The Kalachowki police has arrested the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and has booked him under Sections 8 and 12 of the Act. The accused has been remanded in police custody.

A similar incident had taken place in a Goregaon SRA building on Thursday, when a 35-year-old man allegedly sexually abused a 10-year-old girl.

The accused, Anoop Ojha, allegedly sexually assaulted the minor in the corridor of the 15th floor of the building. He was produced in the court and was remanded judicial custody of four days.
