Pune: A Pune court on Saturday gave 45 days extension to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file supplementary charge-sheet against two accused in murder of Dr Narendra Dabholkar.

Judicial Magistrate (First Class) S.M.A. Sayyed allowed application of CBI asking extension to file chargesheet against Sachin Andure and Sharad Kalaskar. Both of them allegedly shot at Dabholkar on August 20, 2013 at Omkareshar Bridge. Andure is in judicial custody in Yerwada jail while Kalaskar is in Arther Road Jail in Mumbai.

The CBI invoked UAPA charges- Section 15 for terror and Section 16 for Punishment for Terror Act against Sachin Andure and Sharad Kalaskar on October 25. Other accused against whom UAPA invoked are Amol Kale, Rajesh Bangera and Amit Digvekar. The CBI on Thursday asked the Pune court for extension of 90 more days to file supplementary chargesheet against both.

Lawyers of accused in Dabholkar murder case opposed CBI’s application asking for extension of 90 days to file chargesheet against them saying the court that is hearing the matter does not have jurisdiction to do so.
