Mr Chavan is eyeing chief minister's post if Congress led alliance comes back to power in Mahar-ashtra in 2019.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress took stock of electoral prospects in all 48 Lok Sabha (LS) constituencies since last three days. Interestingly, party’s both Member of Parliament (MP) Ashok Chavan and Rajiv Satav do not want to contest LS elections again.

Mr Chavan wants to return to state politics and Mr Satav is blaming infighting. The Congress has asked their leaders to make sure that the alliance candidates would win in their constituencies.

Mr Satav’s two assembly segments out of six from LS constituency falls under Mr Chavan’s Nanded district. As of now, both Mr Satav and Mr Chavan are not in good political terms. So Mr Satav is avoiding taking risks by contesting LS election.
