2 more turn hostile in Sohrabuddin case

By now 90 witnesses have been examined in the fake encounter case.

Mumbai: Two more witnesses turned hostile in Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter case on Thursday. It took the number of witnesses turning hostile in this case to 61. The prosecution on Thursday examined three witnesses of whom only one was not declared hostile. By now 90 witnesses have been examined in the fake encounter case.

All the three witnesses examined on Thursday were from Reserve Police Line of Udaipur and their duty was to make arrangements for escort to take accused to concerned courts. Police inspector Om Kumar Singh who didn’t turned hostile was on leave and had resumed work the day Sohrabuddin Sheikh aide Tulsiram Prajapati was killed in an encounter.

Hazari Lal Meena who had even given statement under section 164 of CrPC that is admissible as evidence before the court alleged that the CBI allegedly forced him to give false evidence.

The second witness Govind Singh also denied making entry about the entry of especial team to escort Prajapati the day he was killed in encounter. Since both the witnesses retracted from their statement the court declared them hostile.
