Seven illegal Bangladeshis in AHTC custody

Mumbai: Seven Bangladeshi immigrants from Kashimira landed in the custody of the anti-human trafficking cell (AHTC) of the Thane (rural) police for illegal stay in the country on Monday night.

The police rounded up up the seven men from the Dachkulpada area of Kashimira. After the suspects failed to produce legitimate documents supporting their stay in the country, they were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Indian Passport Act and the Foreigners Act.

“From now on, such crackdowns will be routinely held,” said API Sunil Shinde.
