Mumbai: Navy sailors booked for stalking woman

Sandeep Malik and Ankit Malik, class III sailors attached to the Naval Dockyard, Colaba, were booked for stalking and arrested.

Mumbai: The police booked two Navy sailors for allegedly stalking a woman during a procession on the occasion of Dr BR Ambedkar's birth anniversary in Mumbai.

The two were later released on bail.

The complainant, a 20-year-old woman, alleged that as she was walking in a procession taken out on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar on April 14 in Colaba area, the accused stared at her and stalked her for some distance.

Sandeep Malik (27) and Ankit Malik (21), class III sailors attached to the Naval Dockyard, Colaba, were booked under section 354-D of IPC (stalking) and arrested.

They were produced in a local court which granted them bail on the same day.
