The police could not file the charge sheet within the stipulated period of 90 days which got over on September 30. However, the Pune court granted an extension of 90 days to file the charge sheet.

The activists’ lawyers ap-proached the Bombay hi-gh court which stayed the Pune court order. Howev-er, the Supreme Court aga-in allowed the extension.

The charges against them are of being members of and supporting the banned CPI Maoist organisation, criminal conspiracy, planning to conduct unlawful activities, promoting enmity between different groups, making statements towards public mischief, and raising funds for banned organisation.”
