Haryana Police leave city after probe, but may return

Mumbai: The two-member Haryana police team that visited the city on Tuesday to quiz Ryan Pinto, CEO of Ryan International Group of Institutions, and other officials in connection with its probe into the murder of a seven-year-old boy at the group’s Gurugram-based school, returned to Haryana late Wednesday night. According to police sources, the team may visit Mumbai again in a few days with the court orders empowering it to collect probe-related documents from the school’s headquarters in Kandivali (east’s Thakur Complex.

The police team has questioned the persons concerned about the conduct of the security, and investigated if there was any negligence that led to the incident. Sources at Samta Nagar police station, Kandivali (east) said that the two Haryana police officers had quizzed the teaching and the non-teaching staff to scour for the clues in the probe of the murder. A source close to the investigation told this paper that the two Haryana police officers were tight-lipped about the probe, and did not reveal many details. However, the source said they were not content with their findings on Tuesday and Wednesday, and have bid adieu to the city police, but hinted they shall return.

There was no police presence near the Ryan Group’s headquarters on Thursday, but parents expressed discontent about the situation. One of the parents said on the condition of anonymity, “Due to all the news flashing about the school, we are scared, and our kids are horrified to attend school as well. We don’t want to ruin our kid’s future, and hence have to send them to school with a heavy heart.”
