Mumbai: Elated with the results in Hindi heartland states, the Shiv Sena is likely to be more aggressive in the days to come. In the backdrop of reports that farmers expressed their ire by voting against the BJP, Sena has already demanded implementation of fixed retail price (FRP) for onions and is likely to push the demand more aggressively now.

The Sena has already taken up the Ram Mandir issue with its chief Uddhav Thackeray who visited Ayodhya last month to push for his demand of temple. By highlighting farmers woes in the state, Sena wants to further pile pressure on the BJP-led state government.

“Farmers in Rajasthan are facing woes and when their counterparts in Madhya Pradesh hit the streets to demand justice, bullets were fired upon them and the tillers have taken their revenge in elections,” the Sena said in an editorial in party mouthpiece ‘Saamana’.

“The results clearly sho-w that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah’s dream of making the country Congress-mu-kt have gone to the dust in the BJP’s own regime. People of these states have indicated of a BJP-mukt regime,” the Sena said.

“Decisions like demonetisation were a farce which ruined the country’s econom,” it added.
