CCTV recording of residence not tampered: Report

Mumbai: The forensic science laboratory (FSL) report from Gandhi Nagar has said that the CCTV recording of premises of late Bollywood actress Jiah Khan’s residence was not tempered with. Jiah’s mother Rabiya Khan had alleged that the CCTV recording has been tampered with due to which it was sent for forensic tests.

Rabiya Khan, who has filed complaint with police in connection with her daughter Jiah’s death, had made various allegations including that the CCTV recordings were tampered.

Following this certain material seized by investigating agency were sent for forensic tests in Gandhinagar. The report of directorate of forensic science has been submitted in the court, which has confirmed that there was no tampering with the CCTV recordings. “Edit/alteration/modification was not observed within the CCTV video footages present in the hard disk,” read the report.

The local police and later the CBI however, has termed this to be a suicide and the agency has charged Suraj Pancholi with ‘abetment to suicide’ for the death of actress in 2013. According to police, Jiah and Suraj met thr-ough Facebook in Sept-ember 2012 and later their friendship turned into intimate relationship over a period of time.

As per the chargesheet filed in the court, on fateful day of June 3, 2013, when Jiah was found hanging at her residence. She had left Suraj’s house in the morning where they had been staying together for last two days.
