Mumbai: To avoid monsoon-related obstructions to its ambitious coastal road project, the BMC has set up three exclusive disaster management posts at the project site. The BMC has also rolled out landline and mobile numbers of the engineers so that people can complain about any inconvenience caused due to construction of the coastal road during the rainy season.

The three control posts have been set up at Priyadarshani Park, Amarsons garden and Worli dairy. The complaint numbers for the Priyadarshani park site are 022-23629410, 9958899501, 9958793012 while the project manager’s number is 7045901366. The complaint numbers for the Amarsons garden site are 022-23610221, 9167061106, 8239567841 while the project manager’s numbers are 9967014362 and 9702467575. Apart from this, citizens can call the BMC’s helpline number i.e. 1916. While, an exclusive BMC helpline number only for coastal road-related complaints will be set up in two days.

Chief engineer for the coastal road Mohan Machiwal said, “We do not want to take any chance for any water saturation on the project sites and we have taken all required precautions. But if residents face any inconvenience during heavy rainfall due to construction work, they are free to contact the disaster management helplines. The control posts’ objective is also to analyse fake complaints.”
