Rahul Gandhi plans intra-party connection
Mumbai: Congress president Rahul Gandhi will launch a project to strengthen intra-party communication between workers and leaders. Mr Gandhi will be in Mum-bai on June 12, where he will address booth-level workers of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC).
“It is a unique project through which Mr Gandhi will speak to party workers directly. It is named ‘Shakti’ as the workers at the grassroots are real power of the party,” said Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam on Saturday.
“This will help us to learn about the worker’s grievances and also the ground level issues of the city, and to devise the mechanism to resolve them,” added Mr Nirupam.
The project has been envisaged ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. This initiative aims to establish a two-way direct communication within the party, between the ground-level workers and the party’s central leadership, the statement said.
During the visit, Mr Gandhi will also address a congregation of booth-level Congress workers at the Goregaon Exhibition Centre in the suburbs.
