Mumbai: Alliance discussions are underway with the Shiv Sena, said finance minister Piyush Goyal. He also said that the controversial Rafale deal was not an election issue and would not have any impact on the election as the people of the nation had complete faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the question of the alliance with the Sena and whether the BJP had heard Sena chief Uddhav Thacke-ray’s Mann Ki Baat, Mr Goyal said that they had invited the Sena for forging an alliance. He said that the two parties were alliance partners and should contest the election together. “We have heard Mr Thackeray’s Mann Ki Baat. The deliberation (over the alliance) is going on and the decision will be finalised soon,” Mr Goyal said.
