Mumbai: The Mumbai University (MU) till Friday declared 42 results of the winter semester examinations conducted last month. These examinations are minor as not more than 20 students appear for them. Like the summer final examinations conducted in April and May, these examinations too, will be assessed using the new on-screen marking (OSM) system.

The results declared belong to the arts, architecture and fine arts streams. Officials of the varsity see this as a positive sign as compared to the last examinations that were delayed by more than four months. "We have started assessment really soon this time in order to avoid any kind of mess in the coming days. Our teachers have been assessing first-year, second-year and third-year papers together, out of which, the first two are manually assessed while the third is assessed online," said a MU official. The declared results are available on the official website of MU where students can check.

Along with this, teachers are juggling between assessments. However, unlike last time, they don't have any technical problems or connectivity issues. A teacher who did not wish to be named said, “We are having a smooth process this time. Last year, the system did not work properly and there was an Internet problem all the time. But now, we are assessing all three years' papers so we are finding it a bit difficult to manage.”
