Mumbai: Elderly held for assault on two minors

Mumbai: A 72-year-old senior citizen has been arrested for allegedly molesting two minor girls by touching them inappropriately. The 72-year-old would allegedly molest the duo when they visited his place to play with his pet dog. The girls complained about the incident after they were taught about the ‘good touch and bad touch’ as a part of Mumbai police’s initiative ‘Police Didi’. The accused was arrested by Kandivali’s Samata Nagar police under the relevant sections of Indian Penal code (IPC).

Anil Mane, a senior police inspector of Samata Nagar police station, said, “The incident came to light when the girls told their parents that ‘grandpa touches us badly’, and a case was registered.”

The accused Anthony D’souza has been booked under section 354 of the IPC that pertains to molestation and sections 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
