Sena to kickstart drive for women
Starting Monday, the Sena will kickstart the Pratham Ti Mahila Sammelan' across 25 districts.

Mumbai: Just weeks ahead of the Assembly election, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena has decided to connect with the women of the state. Starting Monday, the Sena will kickstart the ‘Pratham Ti Mahila Sammelan’ across 25 districts.
As per the initiative, the party would focus on 5S – Shikshan (education), Suraksha (self-defence), Samta (equality). Swasthya (health) and Swavalamban (self-independent).
In a statement, issued by the party central office, the Sena said that 20 women leaders of the party, who would hold meetings with wo-men across the state.
In the first phase, the meetings would be held in Parbhani, Nanded, Solapur, Aurnagabad and Osmanabad between September 9 and 11.
The party further stated that the initiative is directed towards empowering women and addressing their concerns.
“We will try to know the problems of the last women of the society through this initiatives,” Manisha Kaya-nde, Sena spokesperson, said.
Some of the women leaders part of the initiative include Priy-anka Chaturvedi, Kis-hori Pendekar, Shubha Raul, and Jyoti Thakre.
