Irate farmers force congress MLC to step down

Mumbai: Congress leader and member of legislative council (MLC) Bhai Jagtap had to face the wrath of farmers in Nashik when he tried to sit on the stage during a meeting of the new core committee of farmers’ organisations. The meeting was being held in Nashik where all leaders supporting the farmers’ agitation reached to participate.

However, when Jagtap tried to go on stage, farmers who were present there started shouting slogans against him. To placate the farmers, MP Raju Shetti intervened and told them that they would need the help of everyone supporting the agitation. “Everyone who is supporting the cause of the farmers will be our friend. We need their well wishes and help in this fight. So, do not oppose Jagtap’s coming on stage,” Shetti appealed.

But the farmers were in no mood to listen to him and finally, Jagtap had to leave the stage.
