Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has shortlisted five contractors for the construction of two bridges at Thane creek.

They are Afcons Infrastructure Limited, Tata Projects, Simplex infrastructure, Gam-mon Infrastructure Projects and Larsen & Toubro. The bridges have received clearances from Railways, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Mumbai Maritime Board. According to authorities, construction of bridges requires diversion of a few mangroves located at the end of the existing bridge, and the proposal for the same is yet to be cleared. The total cost of the project is Rs 775.58 crore.

“The RFQ (Request for Qualification) was completed recently, after which we shortlisted the contractors. Soon we will start the RFP (Request for Proposal), and in five months from now we will finalise the contractor,” said a senior MSRDC officer.
