CM announces setting up of Fin corp in Pune

Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadanvis on Friday announced the setting up of the Raje Umaji Naik Finance Development Corporation in Pune. Speaking at the 227th birth anniversary of Raje Umaji Naik organised by Jay Malhar Kranti Sanghtana and Bhivdi citizens at Hutatma Umaji Naik Vidyalaya premise, Bhivdi in Purandar Taluka.

The government would extend financial help to create a movie based on the life and mission of Raje Umaji Naik so that it inspires the young generation and common masses as well, said Mr  Fadanvis.

“Raje Umaji Naik raised a great revolt against the British and harassed them to a great extent. He was the first to raise a banner of revolt against the British government. This was the chieftain who started the freedom struggle.”

Speaking on the issue of reserveation, the chief mninister said that the scrutiny of the Justice Bapat Commission’s recommendation is going on and the government would make appropriate recommendation to the central government soon, he said.
