Mumbai: Contractor Sanket Jadhav’s suicide has invoked memories of builder Suraj Parmar’s suicide case where four Thane corporators were arrested for allegedly demanding huge amounts from him to clear his projects.

In 2015, Parmar had shot himself with his personal .32 calibre pistol in the sample bungalow at one of his upcoming projects in Kasarvadavli. He was fed up of the Thane Municipal corporators, who were threatening him over the completion of his projects. The same had also resulted in financial losses for him.

After Jadhav’s death stating the same financial problem, Thane police team alerted their sources and now trying to find the real reason behind his alleged suicide.

When The Asian Age contacted Parmar’s brother, Uday, he refused to comment on the topic and said they are still to recover from the Suraj’s death.

In the Suraj Parmar case, he had named four corporators who were harassing him. The Thane police had arrested all four — Hanumant Jagdale, Nazeeb Mulla, Vikrant Chavan and Sudhakar Chawan. Later, the district court had relaxed the conditions imposed on the four accused, who are currently out on bail.
