Mumbai: Congress MLA receives lewd messages, registers case

The police registered a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 354 against unknown person.

Mumbai: Congress MLA Varsha Gaikwad has registered a case in Wadala Truck Terminal Police Station on Monday afternoon after she received lewd messages on her mobile phone by an unidentified person.

The police registered a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 354 against unknown person.

Last week, Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorkhe also registered a complaint with the Mumbai Police after receiving threats of rape and murder on her phone.

Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shaina NC also registered a case against unidentified person after getting lewd messages on phone but later the police arrested the accused, a BJP activist from Varanasi.
