Mumbai: BJP MPs led by Sambhaji Raje Bhosale, the descendant of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji has asked the Central Railway (CR) to add two coaches in the long distance trains plying between different parts of the state and city. This move will help people reach the city to participate in the Maratha Muk Morcha, a silent march scheduled for August 9.

Sources said the demand for extra coaches has been made to pull in as many people as possible to make the march the biggest so far. It will mark the one-year anniversary of the movement that originated in Aurangabad last year. The march will start at Jijamata Udyan in Byculla and end at Azad Maidan.

CR officials have said that they will try to accommodate the request for trains. An official said, “We might be able to add a coach or two in trains like Mahalaxmi Express that comes in from Kolhapur and a few others that come in from Nagpur. These are the places from which the MPs will be bringing in a large number of people for the protest.”

Sambhaji Raje said that the request has been made so that the community from all over the Maharashtra can make it to the crucial event to show support for the cause.
