Mumbai: Following the recovery of pictures of Dr Tadvi’s suicide note, the crime branch, probing the suicide, have added section 201 (causing destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to advocate of Dr Tadvi’s, the police has called Tadvi’s husband and has asked him to produce documents written by Tadvi to cross check her handwriting.

“The crime branch officers had called Dr Salman, husband of late Dr Tadvi, and informed that they have added section 201 of IPC in the case,” said advocate Gunratan Sadavarte.

Advocate Sadavarte also said that the police called Dr Salman with documents having notes as well as patients’ medical papers that have Dr Tadvi’s writing to compare the handwriting.

According to Mr Sadavarte considering the nature of case he had demanded that the probe be carried out in a scientific manner. He also said that on next date of hearing the probe agency would inform the court about this development.

Dr Tadvi’s mobile phone was sent to Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory and the lab on Monday informed the crime branch about the recovery of the suicide note.

According to sources the note refers to casteist remark used against Dr Tadvi.

It may be recalled that no suicide note was found after Dr Tadvi’s death and police, while seeking remand of three arrested doctors the police had claimed that they want their custody to find the truth about the suicide note.
