BMC demolishes illegal shed of water company

The shed was built up by the company on nearly 7,000 sq ft in its premises at Andheri East.

Mumbai: A large unauthorised shed, constructed by Bisleri — a packaged drinking water major, was demolished by the Brihanmumbai Mun-icipal Corporation (BMC). The shed was built up by the company on nearly 7,000 sq ft in its premises at Andheri East.

According to civic officials, officials of building and factories department had recently carried out a inspection of the company premises. During the inspection, it was found that an illegal shed has been constructed on 6,973 sq ft space. It was also found that an unauthorised cabin has been constructed on the first floor of one of the buildings in the company premises.

The illegal shed was demolished immediately whereas a notice has been issued to the company for the construction of unauthorised cabin under section 351 of Mumbai Municipal Act, said Prashant Sakpale, assistant commissioner, K-East ward.
