Mumbai: A godown in Sagar Industrial estate located in Dahisar caught fire on Monday evening. However, no injuries were reported in the incident.

“The fire started at around 5.15 pm and immediately the fire engines and four water tankers were rushed to the spot. The fire brigade declared a level 2 fire — a major fire — at 5.28 pm. At around 6.30 pm the blazes were covered from all sides and was under control. No one was injured in the incident,” said Tanaji Kamble, Brihanmumbai Municpal Corporation spokesperson.

According to fire control room, the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the godown located in the Sagar industrial estate, Ketki pada near Dahisar Toll naka. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertianed. The firefighting was in process until this incident was reported to the press. However, the fire was under control, officials said.

Earlier in last month, a major fire had broke out at an oil factory in Raigad district. The fire had spread quickly owing to strong wind in the area, and engulfed the plant spreading to a nearby industrial oil company.
