Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has got relief from the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay high court. The court has quashed the FIR registered against him for instigating locals against north Indians in the state.

On October 21, 2008, MNS workers had pelted stones at a bus headed from Rajur to Auran-gabad, and shouted “Raj Thackeray zindabad” and “Evict outsiders from the state” slogans. The incident had occurred at Badnapur taluka, Jalna district.

While the MNS workers fled, bus driver Ambadas Telangare registered a FIR against Mr Thackeray and 10 to 15 unknown persons. The Badnapur court had said that the case would not begin till Mr Thackeray came to the court after which, he moved the HC for quashing the FIR.
