Shaina files complaint after receiving lewd messages

Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson and fashion designer Shaina N.C. on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police against an unidentified stalker who has been harassing her by sending lewd text messages and whatsapp messages since December last year. According to the police sources, the BJP spokesperson lodged a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police station at BKC in Mumbai.

In her complaint, Ms NC alleged she has been on the receiving end of the lewd messages since December last year, according to police sources. After many messages, Ms NC had reached out to the stalker via message and asked him to stop contacting her. But despite her attempt of settling the matter without any legal aid, she still got the messages from the stalker.

DCP Cyber Crime Akhilesh Singh said, “The offence has been registered at the Cyber Crime police station on Thursday and we have booked an unidentified man under relevant sections.” Speaking to The Asian Age, Shaina NC said, “I have been getting these messages for the past three months, but the intensity of these messages crossed the limits in the last two weeks and it was then that I decided to lodge a complaint against the stalker. If a woman like me can be stalked like this and if I kept mum, how will people's mindset ever change.”
